Dear Colleagues,

Plant diversity represents the foundation of agricultural sustainability, crop improvement, and global food security. The conservation and effective utilization of plant genetic resources have become increasingly important as agricultural systems face growing challenges associated with climate change, environmental stresses, emerging diseases, and the need for sustainable food production. Recent advances in molecular technologies have transformed our understanding of plant diversity and accelerated the development of improved crop varieties. Molecular markers, genomics, transcriptomics, and other modern approaches provide powerful tools for the characterization of genetic resources, the assessment of genetic variation, the identification of valuable traits, and the enhancement of breeding efficiency. These approaches contribute not only to the conservation of plant biodiversity but also to the development of resilient and productive agricultural systems. This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for researchers working on molecular approaches related to plant diversity and improvement. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and short communications addressing plant genetic resources, genetic diversity, molecular characterization, molecular breeding, genomics, and molecular responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. Studies contributing to the conservation, evaluation, and utilization of plant diversity for sustainable crop improvement are particularly encouraged. We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Diversity is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
